Be Filled With Wonder

Hi everyone Miae here!

Today I'm sharing with you a page made with some of my favorite UWS products: the Star Confetti Mask and Star Confetti.

I know I use these products a lot but they really are so versatile and can create such diverse looks that I just can't stay away! I cherish this photo of my daughter holding bits of ice from an iceberg on a beach in Jokulsarlon, Iceland. It's not everyday you get to hold a piece of an iceberg and I seeing her hands and open palms....the photo seems to say, "here, let me show you this magical, translucent, thing I hold in my hand".

I wanted to convey that sense of magic so I tried to create a background of flowing stars. I used the Star Confetti Mask as both a stamp (across my page)...

and as a stencil (on the vellum hearts)...it is seriously versatile and a perfect size!

As for the Star Confetti, I covered them with glitter glue to add a little sparkle while still having their natural color come through.

Thank you for visiting UWS and I hope you find some inspiration to take back with you!

Supplies:
VLVS Small Fairy Stamp
Faber Castell Big Brush PITT Pens
Faber Castell PITT pastels
Amy Tangerine word stamp
Hampton Arts glitter glue
Martha Stewart glitter

smile, breathe and enjoy life

Hello :)

Here is Tusia Lech :) I am super-excited to have my very own blog-post at UmWowStudio :) I am so so happy to be a part of this awesome team!!! Not only all ladies are amazingly talented, but also UmWowStudio stuff is just gorgeous!!! So without long intro - my first layout as UWS designer.

Those of you, who knows me a little bit, will not be surprised by this photo :) I always look on the bright side of life :) So "smile, breathe and enjoy life" is a perfect title!!!

I have used gorgeous Hexagon Background chipboard from UWS and lots of stuff from 7 Dots Studio Illumination collection. Below you can see hearts (Love Speech Bubles) from UWS covered with white Ecoline and then with pink Ecoline (381). If you do not know, what Ecolines are - they are fluid watercolors, available in little jars. I love them and use them very often.
All cicles were drawn using UmWowStudio stencil - Circle Confetti Mask.

I decided not to alter Hexagon Background chipboard, because I love UWS chipboards color!

And I just had to use a gorgeous flair - Believe in Magic - from Be Merry set. It was like a cherry on a top :)

Thank you for visiting UmWowStudio blog today :) Have a wonderful day!

Introducing our CREATIVE TEAM!

I'm so excited to introduce to you our brand new Creative Team.

These girls are all so damn talented. They all inspire me in different ways, and we have a unique blend of paper crafting styles, I know you'll love everything they bring to the team!

Alphabetically we have...

My name is Anna Iwanowska and I'm a creative person :)
I'm a scrapbooker, cardmaker, mixed-media artist, art-journalist and a graphic designer. I'm not affraid to experiment and to try new techniques and materials. My style is feminine and a little bit glamour but I often combine it with grunge elements. I love eclectic style! I'm very excited to go one the new road in my life by working with UmWowStudio :)

I'm Amy Lynne Lassiter, wife to my best friend from college, and momma to three daughters, ages 18,14, and 12. In my day to day, I am a librarian and classically trained singer.
Other than my amazing family, the thing I eat, sleep, and breathe is mixed media art and craft. I adore creating assemblage-style scrapbook layouts and canvases, tags, mini books, and altered projects; with an eclectic, free, and soulful vibe.

Hi! My name is Lisa Wilkinson and I am so excited to be joining the UmWowStudio design team! I am married to a great guy and have seven amazing children who will be found in my layouts. I am excited to share how UmWowStudio and Pocking Scrapbooking go hand in hand and how beautifully they work together. My style is organized messy with lot of fun layers, which makes me so excited for all the masks, chipboard and elements! I cannot wait to get started!

Hi, I’m Manda and I am a 30-something graphic designer living in a small country town Victoria, Australia. I have always had a passion for craft, design and pretty paper. I have been memory keeping for just over 3 years and am fortunate enough to have been able to turn scrapping into a full time job as editor of Life.Paper.Scrapbook. Magazine. When I am not in the craft room I am busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen, taking pictures, reading or just hanging out with my two kitties Harry and Winston.

Hello! My name is Miae and I live in California with my husband, our 2 wee girls, and our 2 doggies. I've been scrapbooking since 2006 and I still can't get enough of it! It's my creative outlet. I don't have a particular style as long as I put some paint and mixed media on my projects. I'm also very excited to be a part of the UmWowStudio CT!

I am a working mom, working outside the home. I have been crafty since I was a little girl (I have my grandma to thank for that) and created my first scrapbook over 15 years ago. My latest obsession with scrapbooking started 3 years ago and I haven't stopped since. My children are grown, so much of my crafty inspiration comes from my two French bulldogs, Moose & Flikka. I live in snowy Salt Lake City, Utah, but am an Mid West girl by heart. I consider myself a craft chameleon. I frequently move from one type of crafting project to another. One day I am obsessed with creating scrapbook layouts, and the next day I'm obsessed with mixed media art. I really enjoy mixing up my projects to keep it fresh and interesting. I currently design for - Frog Dog Studio & My Mind's Eye and have been blessed to be published in Somerset Memories, Artful Blogging, Scrapbook Trends, and Creating Keepsakes.

I am book admirer, eager scrapbooker and coffee fan, who loves to spend time outside. I love my garden and doing all kind of creative things. Because I am also a mum and a wife, I have not a second to be bored :) Life is full of opportunities and missing them would be a sin :)

My name is Anna, in virtual world I use my nick – wiosanka. I live in Poland, near the Baltic Sea.
What I love most about scrapbooking is making layouts and occasional albums with photos of my boys.
I can’t live without colorful papers, washi tapes, chipboards, flairs and paint splashes, and recenty I started to discover mixed-media world. I have a great pleasure to design for 7 Dots Studio, Lemoncraft, Scrapiniec, scrapki - wyzwaniowo and Once Upon A... Sketch.

WELCOME THE TEAM WITH ME!! Let's have a GIVEAWAY! Welcome the team with BIG OPEN ARMS and we'll send one lucky commenter some chipboard and a set of flair!

Whitewash your chipboard!

Hellloooo :)

DeeDee here, today! Don't worry, soon enough we'll have some super fab new designers posting projects and bits all over the blog. I can't believe the talent that was interested in joining our team, and I can't wait to introduce you to each new member! Stay tuned :)

for NOW -- I want to share with you a recent project I did and a quick tutorial in video format on giving your UmWowStudio chipboard a quick ... "muting" ... as in making the gorgeous kraft color of our board a bit lighter and easier on the eyes. We are slowly but surely adding products and materials to our website that will and are great to use with our products, like the Golden Gesso.

let me start by showing you the project:

This tag can be found on my personal blog, as well as the Scrapki-wyzwaniowo challenge site, so graciously sponsored by 7 Dots Studio

And here is a closeup of the look we'll be achieving for our chipboard.

You can get all the details in the following video, just grab your Nature Walk Floral Collection chipboard and some Golden Gesso

I also gave everything else on the tag a nice brush of gesso to help tie it all together. The Golden gesso is just perfect for that because it's so thin. Stay tuned for more tutorials, and other types of gesso, too!

>Extraordinary< {a 12x12}

Time for a little SKETCH inspiration!!! Remember this debut yesterday?

I based this layout on the brand new sketch:

It occurred to me a few weeks ago (When my little sis visited us for Christmas) that I could scrap pictures of HER and do them nice and girly♥

Love my background? Have you heard of the GELLI PLATE craze?? Well check out my post over on the Amazing Crafting Products Blog -video alert!- It's all the rage to create  your OWN plate out of durable high quality Amazing Mold Rubber! And I used mine to mono-print my background. The base of the layout is a sheet of beautiful 7 Dots Studio paper. On top of the paper is my mono-printing in Gesso and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I picked up a super cool technique from CT member Miae and printed using UmWowStudio's Circle Confetti Mask. (take a peek @ the ACP blog to see the video!)

Embellishments include the UmWowStudio Nature Walk Butterfly, Heart Confetti and the Reinforcement from the Nature Walk Soar Tags. There's a Coffee Ring and { w i t h   l o v e } stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps!, a super cool vintage tag from a color kit by Gauche Alchemy Kits, Prima flower and bark hearts. All the gorgeous pink comes from the brand new Puffy Sequin Hearts by May Arts! I used one whole heart, one half heart and cut a bunch of sequins off of three other hearts. Last but not least, just a little thread, adhesive and kraft paper distressed in Walnut Stain Ink.
